No injuries after Harrison County school bus slides into ditch near Florence

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Seventeen people were uninjured after a Harrison County school bus slid into a ditch near Florence.

According to Cpl. Kervin Stewart with the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the school bus, carrying coaches and students from D’Iberville High School, was attempting to make a U-turn on Highway 49 in Rankin County just south of the Florence City limits near Donna’s Produce.

As it attempted to make the turn, it became stuck on the soft shoulder of the southbound lanes causing the bus to slide into the ditch.

None of the 17 people on board were injured and the bus was pulled out of the ditch.
