Moss Point police investigating Shawn Martin death as a homicide

JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - The death of Shawn Martin is being investigated as a homicide by the Moss Point Police Department.

Jackson County Deputy Coroner Carole Anne Fagan confirmed Monday the body discovered in a wooded area in Moss Point is Shawn Martin. The body was discovered on April 13.

According to family, Martin had been missing since March 21. They say he was on his way to Atlanta but never made it. Ashley said a search party for Martin discovered his body.

Martin was last seen driving a 2003 GMC Yukon at a service station on Highway 613 on March 21. The vehicle was recovered abandoned on March 25 on Monarch Street off Pearl Street.

Ashley said that is one street over from Moulden Street where Martin’s body was found in a wooded area.
