HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - An administrator at the University of Southern Mississippi will soon be retiring after a long career at the university.
Eddie Holloway’s last day on the job is June 30.
He’s served as the dean of students for more than 20 years and has also been assistant vice-president for student affairs for the last several years.
He began as an undergraduate student in 1968 and received all of his degrees from Southern Miss.
“I’m happy that I was able to be employed 40 years at a place that I love,” Holloway said. “Very few people can say that.”
Holloway said after he retires he may do some consulting or teaching.
“I’ll have to transition to another life after education, but think that I’m the most blessed person that I can think of.”
Holloway also served four terms on the Hattiesburg City Council.
