Police: Badly decomposed body discovered in wooded area of Moss Point

MOSS POINT, MS (WLOX) - Moss Point Police Chief Brandon Ashley confirms a body was found in a wooded area in Moss Point around 10 a.m. Saturday near Molden Street.
Officers from around the county are currently at the scene collecting evidence.
Ashley confirmed a search party for missing man Shawn Martin discovered the body. Investigators have not identified the body nor released a cause of death.
Jackson County Coroner Vicki Broadus says officials expect the identification process to take several days, and an anthropologist will be involved to help make the positive ID.
