D’IBERVILLE, MS (WLOX) - He may be new to D’Iberville High, but he’s not new to South Mississippi football. Larry Dolan was named as the new head football coach of the D’Iberville football program.
The Harrison County School Board approved Dolan’s appointment as head coach in a board meeting Monday night.
Dolan has many accomplishments and experience under his belt. Before serving as defensive coordinator for Oak Grove last season, he previously posted an 81-20 record as the head coach of Forrest County AHS from 2006-13. Dolan also served as head coach with Pearl River Central from 2016-17, posting a 5-17 record.
“He had the right mix of success and experience,” Harrison County athletic director Averie Bush told WLOX. “We’re looking to get D’Iberville going again, it’s one of the premiere jobs on the Coast. We need some veteran leadership to get in there and take the helm. I think Dolan is the right guy to make it happen.”
Dolan replaces Eric Collins, who left D’Iberville to become head coach at Bay High. Collins went 18-16 in three seasons leading the Warriors, including the 2016 Region 4-6A Championship.
