BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - The WLOX First Alert Weather Team is keeping an eye on the chance for a line of showers and possibly a few thunderstorms on Tuesday morning.
For the rest of Monday night, we will be dealing with some patchy fog again. It’s important to give yourself plenty of time for your commute Monday night in case you run into some fog. It’s also important to use your low beams while driving.
However, a cold front is expected to arrive Tuesday morning. Ahead of this front, a line of showers and thunderstorms is expected to develop. It really looks like Tuesday morning between 6 AM and Noon will be when South Mississippi sees the best chance for rain. Models have been hinting that we may see some heavy downpours during the morning.
Once it’s all said and done, most areas will see about 0.25-0.75″ of rain. However, some thunderstorms may be able to produce near an inch of rain in a few spots.
One of the limiting factors that will keep the severe weather threat extremely low is a lack of instability. The combination of clouds, showers am storms arriving before peak day-time heating hours should limit the amount of fuel needed for storms to become severe. At this time, we do not see a risk for severe weather.
Rain chances are expected to end Tuesday afternoon.
