In a South Mississippi showdown doubleheader, the Ocean Springs Lady Greyhounds outlasted George County 2-0 in the second overtime period, while the Greyhounds handled the Rebels 5-0 in regulation.
Over in Gulfport, the Admirals kicked things off with a 5-1 victory over Pearl, and the Lady Admirals bested the Lady Pirates with a score of 4-1.
Two huge wins in Long Beach tonight, as the Bearcats blanked Natchez 7-0 while the Lady Bearcats shut out Forest Hill 9-0.
In other boys soccer scores, D’Iberville fell to Oak Grove 4-1 in overtime while Poplarville dominated Lawrence County 5-0. A pair of games went to penalty kicks, as East Central survived Sumrall while Bay High fell to Richland.
In the girls ranks, St. Martin fell to Oak Grove 7-1, while Hancock’s season came to an end at the hands of Brandon, falling 3-0. West Harrison got a big win over Brookhaven 6-0, but Pearl River Central got blanked by South Jones 7-0.
Vancleave dominated Purvis 7-0, while Pass Christian fell to Florence 4-0. Poplarville outlasted Sumrall 2-1, and St. Patrick turned in a big win over North Forrest, winning 9-0.
