BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Biloxi and Gulfport met for the third time Thursday night in their 2018-19 seasons and unlike the previous two games, the Indians had to battle through adversity before tip off.
Five players for Biloxi, including senior guard Dontavius Proby, were suspended for the first three quarters of the game due to their involvement in a heated exchange in their 74-35 win at Harrison Central where benches were cleared.
Both the Indians and Admirals started out slow offensively, ending the first quarter of play with Biloxi leading 11-6. The second quarter is where the Indians found some separation, going on a run to take a 19-9 lead before Gulfport head coach Owen Miller called timeout to get his team together on defense.
The “Biloxi Twins” - Jaronn and Jariyon Wilkens - both scored 15 points while having to play the majority of the game due to the lack of bodies that were available until the fourth quarter.
The Indians improve to 21-0 on the year with just five games left on the regular season while the Admirals are now 18-4 heading into the 2019 HoopsFest on Saturday.
