After a chilly morning in the 40s, a gradual warming trend is expected for the rest of today and into the remainder of this work week: this afternoon’s temperatures will warm to the upper 50s and lower 60s which is about 5 to 10 degrees warmer than yesterday afternoon. Expect sunnier skies for Wednesday. Tonight, there will be increasing clouds and overnight lows will be in the 40s. Even warmer Thursday through Saturday with afternoons in the mid to upper 60s. A few showers will be possible on Thursday and Friday but only light rain amounts are expected. Heavier downpours ahead of a strong cold front will be likely on Saturday, especially after noon. Then, strong north winds will force a blast of the coldest air of the season into our region on Sunday. Afternoons will be in the 40s. And the temperatures will tumble into the 20s Sunday night into early Monday. If it’s still breezy, the wind chill may even drop into the 10s for some on Monday morning.
