Fallen Oak holds on to #2 spot for nation’s best casino course

HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Golfweek magazine has once again named Fallen Oak as one of the country’s best courses, earning the No. 2 spot on its Best Casino Course list and No. 20 on its list of Top 200 Resort Courses.

The Tom Fazio-designed course, at the edge of the DeSoto National Forest, is owned by MGM Resorts and open exclusively to Beau Rivage guests. It has actually held this #2 spot since opening in 2007, bested only by its sister course Shadow Creek in Las Vegas.

Every year, more than 850 evaluators from Golfweek survey more than 3,600 courses – grading each nominated course on 10 standards of evaluation, which include Routing, Quality of Shaping, Overall Land Plan, Greens and Surrounds, Variety and Memorability of Par 3s, 4s and 5s, Tree and Landscape Management, Conditioning and what Golfweek calls a ‘Walk in the Park’ test .

This spring, the 510-acre, par-72 Fallen Oak will once again host the PGA TOUR Champions Rapiscan Systems Classic March 25-31, 2019.
