Senior guard Jay Parker led the way with 25 points as the St. Patrick Fighting Irish improved to 16-0 with a 88-37 victory over Perry Central. The Irish drained ten three-pointers in the win.
Biloxi (17-0) also kept their perfect record intact, easily handling Pearl 64-28. The Indians stormed out to a 35-0 lead after the first quarter and didn’t look back.
The Lady Indians didn’t have as much luck, falling 61-40 to Pearl, who MaxPreps ranks as the top girls basketball team in the entire state.
Sania Wells continued her standout season with some late-game heroics. The Auburn signee drilled a buzzer-beating three-pointer to give East Central (14-1) a critical 44-43 district win over Moss Point.
Over at the Gulfport Sportsplex, Gulfport kicked off the 11th annual I-10/I-20 Soccer Blast with a 4-0 victory over Oak Grove. Mohamed Diallo led the way with a hat trick.
