HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Around 1:45 a.m. fire officials responded to a storage building engulfed in flames at 28th Street and Longridge Road in Harrison County.
The fire destroyed a building that was being used to store items from a man’s home as he remodeled his house.
Harrison County Fire Chief Pat Sullivan says there were reports of bullets exploding inside the building as fire and police units responded to the building. 28th Street was closed by the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office and Long Beach police for about 35 minutes while the fire was extinguished.
The building was destroyed but no injuries were reported.
Sullivan reported the fire was found to be accidental.
Fire units from Long Beach, Lizana, the Gulfport Combat Readiness Training Center, and the Harrison County Fire Service assisted in putting out the fire.
