GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - A Gulfport man is facing a felony charge of armed robbery after being recognized by the store's owner as a regular customer.
Thursday night, a man walked into the Family Market on Landon Road, pulled out a gun, and demanded money. According to deputies, the man got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
When deputies arrived to investigate, the owner said he knew exactly who they should be looking for. He said he recognized the robber as a regular customer at the store, and remembered him being involved in a misdemeanor crime at that location.
Investigators checked their old reports about that minor crime and identified their suspect as 18-year-old Dalize Dekel Nutall. The next stop was Nutall’s house where investigators found him, along with the money taken during the armed robbery, and a BB gun they say was displayed during the robbery.
Nutall was charged with armed robbery and is being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Facility in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
