Rain gear need for Wednesday and Thursday

Christmas looks warm and dry

We will see increasing clouds tonight ahead of a system that will bring us rain Wednesday. Grab the rain gear before heading out the door; you’re going to need it, especially in the afternoon.

We will see a low-pressure system move across the deep south pulling in gulf moisture. Before the rain, watch out for patchy, dense fog overnight and in the morning hours. The more widespread and heavier rain will move into the area around the lunch hours.

As the low pressure moves to our east on Thursday, we expect some wrap around moisture to keep us cloudy with light showers. A second ‘kicker’ system will help move the low farther east and usher in some cooler, drier and breezier conditions.

Look for rain to end in the pre-dawn hours of Friday morning. Friday will be chilly with highs only in the 50s and lows back in the 30s for Saturday morning. But we will see a quick rebound of our temps, back in the 60s for highs and 40s for lows for the weekend before Christmas and hanging on until Christmas Day.
