BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - One week away from Christmas, the Moore Community House Early Head Start in Biloxi is turned into a winter wonderland.
The children and parents are taking part in a winter-themed door decorating contest. The parents were invited to work together and decorate the doors as a way to encourage them to spend time with their children.
“It just shows your involvement with your child and how important it is to be involved with their activities and school work that they do,” said parent Lakiva Washington.
It was a family activity Dylan Wheeler enjoyed taking part in along with his wife and son.
“To really be that parental presence is the biggest part of all this,” said Wheeler. “It shows them that school is a cool thing. It’s fun. You get to do cool stuff like this and be creative.”
