Jackson County family raises exotic birds

JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - There's nothing quite like a proud peacock displaying his colorful feathers. Or a beautiful pheasant strutting around his cage. Sights like these come into full view at the Noble Farm in the Fountainblue community.

"I've got turkeys, pheasants, peacocks, chickens and more," Daryl Noble said.

You'll even find some goats down on the Noble Farm. The Noble family enjoys sharing their collection of exotic birds with visitors.

"We invite people over to take a look and even feed the birds," Noble said.

Hurricane Katrina pushed four feet of water into the Noble property. The family did lose some birds, while many were able to fly into the top of trees. Daryl Noble has spent the past three years rebuilding his cages and getting the family bird farm back in business.
