GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - The million dollar renovation at Gulfport City Hall is coming to a close, but not without some unexpected expenses.

Monday, council members held a special meeting with contractors and architects to discuss some last minute amendments to the renovation project - amendments that carry pretty hefty price tags.

Representatives from Broadus and Associates outlined the details of the plan. They include $17,000 to replace the doors at the 100-year-old building.

There is also an amendment for $1,600 in recessed lighting, another $500 for a media stand, not to mention an $88,000 furniture tab.

Council members agree on some of the amendments, but others are raising a red flag. That's why they plan to vote line by line on what's needed, and what's not.

The original completion date for the Gulfport City Hall renovation was February 28th. That date has now been re-scheduled for April 31st.
