Bridal show draws big crowd

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - The Courtyard Marriott drew in a pretty big crowd Sunday afternoon. Dozens of "brides-to-be" came out to the Premier Bridal Show.

"The countdown has begun," said Samantha Smajd.

Smajd is less than 100 days from her wedding celebration.

"June 6, 2009," said Smajd.

The bride-to-be is in the final stages of wedding planning. She's hoping the bridal show will help her finalize the details.

"There is a lot to choose from," said Smajd. "The runway show gave me a lot of ideas for vail and hair and stuff like that."

The runway was a sea of ruffles and toole as the the Premier Bridal Show made its first stop to South Mississippi.

"I'm delighted to see so many brides here with their friends and their grooms and their moms," said Premier Bridal Show founder Lynda Jungkind. "We wanted to bring the show here before Hurricane Katrina, but I am very pleased with the turnout."

With the success of the one-day event, Jungkind says she is already looking forward to bringing more shows to South Mississippi.
