GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - A hearing is set for later this week in the Warr Katrina fraud case.

According to court documents, Gulfport Mayor Brent Warr and his wife, Laura, will be back in federal court Friday. Their attorneys will be asking the government for a Bill of Particulars. That's basically just more details about the government's case against them.

An indictment unsealed last month accuses the Warrs of defrauding the government out of Katrina funds for their home on Beach Boulevard. The government contends the home was not the Warrs' primary residence when Katrina hit, so they are not entitled to the $150,000 homeowner's grant they received.

Brent and Laura Warr have pleaded not guilty to the charges.

By the way, their case is no longer assigned to Judge Robert Walker. Court records show the case has been reassigned to Judge John Roper as part of a regular rotation of the magistrate duties.
