PASS CHRISTIAN, MS (WLOX) - John Deere, a name synonymous with tractors and other machinery, has set up a series of tents and brought golf course equipment to the Oaks Golf Club in Pass Christian.

The company is showcasing the latest equipment used in the golf course maintenance business.

"One of the latest things is using hybrid technology," said Mike Koppen with John Deere.

Utilizing electric motors cuts down on emissions and minimizes fuel costs.

"It's great that the company decided to come to South Mississippi," Oaks General Manager Russ Bloom said.

Marketing specialists, engineers and product designers are teaching dealers and distributors from around the world about the new equipment on the market.

From here, the John Deere team moves to New Orleans for a major trade industry show.
