GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - Before kickoff, some local businesses were doing a few last minute preps in time for this year's Superbowl.

When football season kicks off, it's no secret who the owners of one popular night spot root for, but even though the Saints didn't make it to Tampa, owners of Gulfport's "The Place to Be" are still going for the black and gold.

"Barack is riding with the Pittsburg Steelers, why can't I," said Jevon Von Toure.

Toure is the owner of "The Place to Be."

No matter who you're rooting for, he's welcoming all South Mississippians to the Gulfport lounge to watch Superbowl 43.

"We are here for the people to give them something to do outside of what's ordinary," said Vontoure.

The business opened its doors a few hours early for this year's game.

"We have meatballs, and we have turkey necks. We're going to grill some cabbage and some corn, hot links, a little Rotel Dip," said Vontoure.

Their will be food free of charge; however, workers will keep the bar stocked in hopes of making some Superbowl cash.

"The Place to Be" is located on 31st Avenue in Gulfport.
