LONG BEACH, MS (WLOX) - The Long Beach Chamber of Commerce recognized several city employees for their service at Thursday morning's "2nd Cup" meeting.

Chris Hull was named City Worker of the Year. Lt. Pete McGoey is the Firefighter of the Year. And Det. Michael Burkett is Long Beach's Police Officer of the Year. Det. Burkett was recognized for his work on the Baptist Church graffiti case and the Yancey molestation case.

The breakfast was held at the First United Methodist Church of Long Beach. Guest speaker Mayor Billy Skellie also gave his State of the City address.
