Long Beach takes no action on permanent cottage proposals

LONG BEACH MS. (WLOX - Time is running out for cottage dwellers in Long Beach. Tuesday the Long Beach Board of Alderman discussed proposals to make cottages a permanent part of the city, but took no action. Mayor Billy Skellie told WLOX News his city has 27 MEMA cottages. MEMA's post-Katrina alternative housing program ends March 31st. So as it stands now, those 27 families must vacate the MEMA cottages by the end of March and find alternate housing arrangements.
