Waveland Police Charge Student With Shooting

Waveland Police made an arrest Wednesday morning in connection with a shooting near a Waveland ball park.

The shooting occurred just after five Tuesday evening near Coleman and Central Avenues. Chief Jimmy Varnell says 16 year old William Vaughn jumped out of a car and began shooting at 28 year old Germaine Lymuel in front of a ball field about 50 feet from a children's soccer game. Luckily, no one was hit by the gunfire.

Vaughn is charged as an adult with one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bond is set at $10,000. Both of the men involved are from Bay St. Louis.
