BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Biloxi City Council members on Tuesday voted down a proposed pay raise for the next council.
The vote was four to two. Mike Fitzpatrick and Charles Harrison were the only council members favoring the raise. Council President Bill Stallworth was absent.
Fitzpatrick initially proposed either a two or three percent raise each year for four years. The council recently voted in favor of pay raises for city employees, despite opposition from Mayor Holloway.
A new city council will take office July first.
