OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) - A weekend "buy bust" in Ocean Springs led officers to an even bigger arrest. Joseph Moore of Moss Point was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute after officers say they found a large amount of crack cocaine and more than $500 in cash.

It all started when Sergeant Terry Hines pulled over a vehicle driven by a minor and found alcohol inside. The teens told Sgt. Hines that underage drinkers were never checked at the Exxon Fast Trac. That's when Ocean Springs Police set up a "buy bust" operation.

Sunday night, they sent an 18-year-old girl into the Bienville Boulevard gas station to buy alcohol. When the clerk allegedly sold her a six-pack without checking her identification, officers moved in and charged him with the sale of alcohol to a minor.

After that arrest, the officers say they found the drugs and cash and upped the charges against the clerk, 23-year-old Joseph Moore.

Moore was turned over to the Jackson County Narcotics Taskforce and booked at the Adult Detention Center where he's being held without bond.
