GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - The countdown to Christmas is on and South Mississippians are spending the final hours shopping for some big ticket items.
Last year it was LCD TVs and Nintendo Wiis and this year, the hot gadgets on everyone's Christmas haven't really changed.
"Of course the Nintendo Wii. It's been very tough to get . We've been fortunate to to have several of them and we made a lot of people happy with the Ninendo Wiis," said Steve Moses, manager of Best Buy in Gulfport.
For the third year in a row, the Nintendo Wii can't stay on store shelves.
"They're still in high demand. We had 80 people waiting outside the store yesterday. They knew we had Wiis and we were issuing out vouchers to the people in line," Moses said.
While the Wiis remain popular, GPS systems and digital photo frames are also in high demand.
"It's been a high tech kind of Christmas," said Moses.
Sandra Bermudez admits she isn't a gadget guru.
"I'm not into the high tech," said Bermudez.
Bermudez may not know about the latest video games but her grandchildren do. That's why she's finding herself taking a second look at Playstation games and the ever popular Rock Band.
"That's her Christmas list. That's the main thing she wants. It's a real popular game right now," said Bermudez.
Biloxi resident Sean Macmillan is also getting his electronic fix.
"The PS3, the Xbox and the laptops is what I'm looking for this year," said Macmillan.
Technology is ruling the registers and this Christmas everyone wants to get in on the action.
