BAY ST LOUIS, MS (WLOX) - The Bay St. Louis Police Department is investigating a Sunday morning shooting that has left a man in critical but stable condition.
Authorities say 29-year-old Jetson Tillman better known as 'J.T.' was shot six times in the parking lot of Nel's Sports Bar and Lounge on the corner of Central Avenue and Balentine Street.
Police say the suspect fled the scene after unloading several rounds of ammunition from a hand gun.
Investigators are still trying to piece together what happened, but they believe an ongoing dispute between the two men led to the shooting.
Detective Joe Kepfer with the Bay St. Louis Police Department said, "Apparently one individual was armed. The other one was not. They had this ongoing argument, and for some reason, the individual that was armed started firing at the other individual. (We) don't know exactly what caused that to happen."
Police say they know who the suspect is, but they're not releasing his name until he is brought into custody.
