Gulfport Teen Turns Himself In After Shooting Incident

According to a preliminary coroner's report, a gunshot to the chest killed 24 year old Todd Cuevas Junior. Cuevas was at the Alamo Plaza Motel Friday morning when he was killed.

Because of the shooting, a 19 year old is in jail, charged with the Gulfport man's murder. Anthony Ditcharo turned himself in to Gulfport police late Friday morning. Police say Ditcharo shot and killed Cuevas during an altercation at the motel.

The shooting took place sometime around 5:30 Friday morning. Police are not saying why either Gulfport man was at the Alamo.

The Pascagoula Panthers open the 2017 football season on the road. In fact, their first three games are road contests. That scheduling quirk may give field turf crews just enough time to get War Memorial Stadium ready for the September 8 home opener. The wet weather in South Mississippi is placing quite the burden on construction workers as they attempt to complete stadium renovations. The project was suppose to be finished before the beginning of Pascagoula's football season.
