BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Shoppers hit the Edgewater Mall before dawn Friday morning.

Edgewater Mall Marketing Director Michelle Rogers said, "Penny's actually opened at 4 so they got the ball rolling for us early."

"Yeah, we got some great deals," says shopper Ava Nordmann.

Rogers says stores were very aggressive in marking down items this year. Early numbers show shoppers filling their bags with one item in particular. "Women's, men's and children's clothing items really seems to be it this season," says Rogers.

Nordmann said,"This is the opportunity to get all those jeans you've been wanting but can't afford that extra pair so now you get them."

"I already have my Christmas list from my kids, clothes are on there," said Yafrica Edwards.

To keep customers coming throughout the holiday season, the mall has a new promotion that could save some lucky shoppers big bucks. "December 8th, 15th and the 22nd, we will be giving away each of those Mondays $250, $500, $1,000 and $2,500 gift card shopping sprees," says Rogers.

Shoppers can start registering Monday, December 1st. The first name will be called Monday, December 1st, at 6 p.m.  The shopping spree money is doubled for those in the mall when their named is called.
