Four more plead guilty to FEMA fraud

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - The government says four people have pleaded guilty to submitting false claims for Hurricane Katrina disaster assistance. The U.S. Attorney's office said the defendants entered a plea deal Tuesday in U.S. District Court. Prosecutors said the four falsely claimed they owned a house in Gulfport, Miss., that was damaged by Katrina in 2005.

James Kelly Knowles, James Daughdrill and Brian Sedlack, all of Mobile, admitted they conspired to defraud the government. Another defendant, Troy Knowles Jr., of Moss Point, Miss., also pleaded guilty to making false claims. In exchange for their guilty pleas, prosecutors said they will recommend minimum sentences. No sentencing date was announced.
