Isle Tries To Expand

The Biloxi-based Isle of Capri Casinos Incorporated has reached a 30 million dollar agreement to purchase two Wendover, Nevada casinos. Company officials say the pending purchase of The State Line and Silver Smith Casino Resorts must be approved by state regulators and Federal Bankruptcy Court in Reno, Nevada. A hearing is scheduled there in early October.

Company officials say a separate purchase agreement has been reached with the policy jury in Cameron Parish, Louisiana. Isle of Capri is considering developing a casino on the Sabina Pass. That development hinges on a November election on gaming in the parish as well as regulatory approval.

Biloxi-based Isle of Capri owns and operates 14 riverboat, dockside and land-based casinos in Mississippi, Louisiana, Colorado, Iowa, Missouri and Nevada. The casino company also operates Pompano Park Harness Racing Track in Pompano Beach, Florida.
