BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Court observers heard a startling revelation Friday in the search for Michelle Craite's killer. A Biloxi detective testified that the man living with Ms. Craite on August 26 confessed to killing her.
Craite's roommate was Timothy Ronk. During the preliminary hearing, Detective Chris DeBack testified that Ronk "broke down" when he reportedly told police he stabbed the 38-year-old woman, and then set her home on fire.
Ronk disappeared after the fire ignited. A day later, the 29-year-old was arrested in Florida. Police say they traced him to Jacksonville because the defendant was allegedly using Ms. Craite's credit cards.
A grand jury will hear the evidence in this capital murder case. For now, Ronk will remain in custody.
