Four in hospital after crash in Hancock County

Four people remain in the hospital Friday morning after a head-on collision in North Hancock County Thursday night.

One of the four people involved in the crash was a five-year-old girl. She is in critical condition and was taken to USA Medical Center in Alabama. The three adults are at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport in serious condition.

The accident happened shortly before 8:00pm Thursday night on Highway 603 just south of Quaves Town Road.

Highway patrol officials say the driver of a blue SUV headed north on Highway 603 lost control of the vehicle, crossed into the other lane and struck a southbound silver mini-van.

There were three people inside the mini-van, and only one person, the driver, was in the SUV.

The names of the four victims have not yet been released.
