Elderly couple moves back home

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Another South Mississippi family is back into their home.

Banh Le and Nghia Tran are in their 70s. Both have faced serious health problems over the past few months. Hoever, both found the strength to press forward in hopes of one day moving back into their own home.

"This is a legacy for them," said Craig Snow with Hope Force International.

Hope Force is just one of the organizations that helped the Trans rebuild their East Biloxi home.

"When you put all the pieces together it really is a labor of love of many different groups of organizations that come together with one common goal," Snow said.

The Trans have lived in Biloxi for 23 years. Katrina washed away their home and their shrimp boat. And at one point, the light at the end of the tunnel was getting dim for the South Mississippi couple.

After hours of hard work and dozens of volunteers, the Trans now have a brand new state of the art home.

"They were very attentive and detail oriented. They didn't cut corners. They treated it as if it were their own house in a way," said Nghia Tran.

As for what's next for the Trans? This couple is simply looking forward to a good night's sleep.
