BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - The search is still on for a missing Louisiana fisherman whose boat overturned Sunday off Cat Island. Another man, from Long Beach, was found floating on a gas can just north of Cat Island and rescued by a passing boater.
The missing man was last seen floating on a white seat cushion. Neither man was wearing a life jacket.
According to the rescued man, the pair were fishing off the island when their 12-foot, green skiff overturned at about 1 p.m. He was floating on the gas can for about two hours before another boater found him.
The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources Marine Patrol, the Long Beach Fire Department, the Harrison County Sheriff's Department Marine Patrol and a Coast Guard helicopter are all participating in the search.
