THEODORE, AL (WLOX) - The Jackson County Sheriff's Department got quite a surprise when they chased a suspect across the Alabama state line Thursday.
Deputies tried to pull the silver F-150 truck over on Highway 57 and I-10, but as they caught up to him, he sped up again and took off toward Mobile. Alabama authorities joined the chase, but the hunt came to a stop when the Mobile County Sheriff's Department placed spikes in the car's path close to the Theodore exit.
The suspect tried to run away, but both sheriff's departments caught up with him close to a ditch. The man's reason for running became clear when deputies discovered his vehicle was filled with marijuana.
The man who led police on the chase has been identified as 36-year-old Felix Guerraria of Houston.
