BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Dracula, Scooby Doo and even Hannah Montana can be found at Josette's in Biloxi. The costume shop owners say this is their busiest and most important week of the year.
But with a struggling economy, they wondered if this year would be as good as year's past, they found out Saturday, it was even better.
Leslie Bottoms said, "This place is awesome. It looks dead from the outside. And you come in, and it's like so alive."
She's is just one of the six thousand people expected to walk through Josette's Saturday.
"Halloween's one of the best holidays there is. It's just fun; it's a lot of fun," Bottoms said.
Miss Josette has been dressing up the Gulf Coast since 1989. Leslie will be little red riding hood this year.
"And then my boyfriend is going to be the bad wolf. So I got a tail, and I got little paws for him," Bottoms said.
They say the average customer spends two hours in their costume shop. Some people say it takes a whole day to see everything. Josette's husband Tex has had to keep expanding with her growing collection of costumes, wigs, masks and countless accessories.
Tex Locklar, "It was my idea to buy this building because she kept filling up every other building we were in, and now this one's full."
There are now 12-thousand square feet of choices to browse on what is one of their busiest days of the whole year.
From the looks of the line, the Halloween spirit is alive and well. Despite a lagging economy people like Leslie Bottoms say dressing up is so much fun, it's definitely worth the money.
"Um, almost 100 dollars, but it's for both of us. So, it's pretty good; I think it's awesome," said Bottoms.
