Beauvoir ready for first Fall Muster since Katrina

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - History comes to life at Beauvoir this weekend. For the first time since Katrina, the annual Fall Muster will be held on the grounds of the historic Biloxi home. The event took place at the Harrison County Fairgrounds the past two years.

Dozens of civil war re-enactors will provide both information and entertainment this weekend. As always, one highlight will be the afternoon battle between Union and Confederate troops.

"We have demonstrations of weapons and artillery... We'll have a battle at 1:30 tomorrow to 2:30, and also on Sunday," Beauvoir Director Richard Forte said.

This year's battle scenario is from the Battle of New Hope Church in Atlanta.

The Fall Muster is from 9am until 5pm Saturday and Sunday at Beauvoir, which is located along Highway 90 in Biloxi. Click here for more information.
