JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Eight people are lucky to be alive after a multi-vehicle accident early Thursday morning. It happened just after 5am on Highway 63 South, just north of Wade.
According to Highway Patrol Corporal Johnny Poulos, the morning's heavy fog started it all. When it was over, this chain collision involved five cars, two 18 wheelers and a motorcycle.
"With this particular wreck, we had an 18 wheeler that had pulled out, had a rear end collision. Then we had vehicles stopping, then we had a chain reaction. Here again, visibility was a big time problem. And we are just asking people, this time of year fog will be a factor. Slow down," Poulos said.
