The crowds for Cruisin' the Coast continue to build this week. In fact the larger crowds are expected today thorough the rest of the weekend. This event is becoming one of the bigger tourism events of the year.
During this normally slow time it is great to welcome thousands of visitors to our beaches, casinos, restaurants and hotels. This year because of the reconstruction of Highway 90, travelers along the beach road will probably experience slow traffic and back ups where there is just one lane. Therefore we urge coast residents to use Pass Road and Interstate 10 this week and let our tourists cruise along the beach road.
If you want to watch the cruisers along Highway 90 or go to some event along the beach front, just take one of the north-south roads. By doing this, we will make the experience of our visitors more pleasant. None of the cruisers want to come to an area and sit in gridlock traffic. Let's all be members of the tourism bureau this week and make sure our cruisers have a great experience.
