Woman In Serious Condition After Shark Attack

Coast Guard officials said 29 year-old Kinberly McClain was swimming 60 miles south of Mobile when she was attacked by a 12-14 foot shark. Some boaters pulled the woman from the water and took to her to a nearby oil rig, where a New Orleans coast guard Helicoptor air-lifted her to the USA Medical Center in Mobile. Hospital officials said McClain was in serious condition. Coast Guard officials told WLOX she was bitten on both arms, one leg and suffered puncture wounds in her abdomen, but hospital officials said they could not confirm the details of the injuries. Just last summer an Ocean Springs boy was attacked by a shark near Pensacola. Eight year old Jessie Arbogast is still recovering from the attack that caused the child brain damage.
