Sea Wolves Pick Up Two From Roanoke

The Mississippi Sea Wolves looking for defensemen made a trade with the Roanoke Express and acquired Derrick Byfuglien and Chris Cava in exchange for an undisclosed amount of cash.

21-year-old Byfuglien split last season between the Florida Everblades and Roanoke.  In 64 games the 6-foot-1, 200-pound native of Roseau, Minnesota scored five goals, six assists for 11 points and 120 penalty minutes.

Cava, a 21-year-old native of Thunder Bay, Ontario recorded five assists and 179 penalty minutes in 56 games.  He's 5-foot-11 and weighs 200 pounds.

Sea Wolves Head Coach Bob Woods said, "Byfuglien is a versatile, well-rounded defenseman that can play tough.  Cava is a steady, stay at home type defenseman.  He's a physical player that will also make it tough for the opposition, especially infront of our net."
