Coast Guard Responds To Platform Fire In Gulf

Coast Guard officials say a gas fire on an oil platform in the Gulf of Mexico, about 35 miles south of Grand Isle, is out. There were no injuries.

The Coast Guard says 55 workers were aboard the Ocean King, a jack-up rig working in 300 feet of the Gulf of Mexico and drilling down 25-thousand feet. It's owned by Diamond Offshore U-S-A Incorporated.

A company spokesman says all the workers were evacuated. The Coast Guard says there's no pollution. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
