HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - A Hattiesburg man wanted by the U.S. Marshals was caught in Harrison County Saturday morning.
Around 2am, Sheriff's deputies stopped a suspected drunk driver at the I-10/Canal Road exit in Gulfport. When deputies began questioning the driver, he took off and a high speed chase followed. The chase ended when the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The passenger in the car, Freddie Watkins, fled on foot. But deputies soon caught up with the man, and ran a background check.
That's when they discovered Watkins had several outstanding felony warrants through the U.S. Marshals office in Arlington, Virginia for probation violation on Burglary and Larceny charges.
