Tanker Spills Thousands Of Gallons Of Milk In Lucedale

LUCEDALE, MS (WLOX) - A tanker overturned Wednesday afternoon around 12:30 and was carrying 25,000 pounds of milk when it rolled over.

The truck was traveling Eastbound on Highway 26 using the on-ramp at Highway 63 when he tipped over spilling the milk.  His fuel tank also leaked out diesel fuel.

Earl Etheridge with the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality was on the scene. He said the his crews would work on cleaning the diesel and the milk. If the milk were to get into the river stream, it would kill the fish.
