BATON ROUGE, LA (WLOX) - A Vancleave teacher, her husband and one of the couples young daughters are dead this morning as a result of a four car vehicle pileup in Louisiana on Tuesday.

They've been identified as 34-year-old Shyla Van Alstine, her 36-year-old husband Phillip and their seven-year-old daughter, Haylie.

Their four-year-old daughter, Kaytie Carson, was listed in critical condition. Louisiana State police have confirmed their 11-month-old, Avery, was with grandparents.

The accident happened yesterday along a congested and bumpy stretch of Interstate 12, east of Baton Rouge near the Amite River in East Baton Rouge Parish.

Louisiana troopers say a 55-year-old woman, Ruth A. Fort of Baton Rouge, will be booked with three counts of negligent homicide and other charges, once she is released from the hospital.
