Triton Systems Up For Sale

LONG BEACH, MS (WLOX) - One of the Coast's largest employers, Triton Systems, is up for sale. The ATM manufacturer provides 300 jobs in the city of Long Beach, and is the city's biggest employer.

Dover, the $7.2 billion parent company of Triton Systems, made the official announcement Wednesday morning.

Dover CEO Ron Hoffman said, "Despite escalating material costs and an unsettled economic environment, activity levels remain positive across the majority of our businesses and our backlog remains healthy. As our business indicators remain strong, we continue to be confident in our ability to deliver 12 percent-plus annual earnings per share growth for the year."

Some news organizations on Wednesday falsely reported that Triton had been closed. But Hoffman said those news reports were incorrect. He said as far as Triton's employees are concerned, nothing will change. They are still going to work every day to make ATM machines.

And though a viable buyer for Triton has been not named, industry sources have suggested the suitor to be Texas-based Nautilus Hyosung America Inc.
