One Ex-Saint Now Plays In Texas

Linebacker Keith Mitchell, selected to the Pro Bowl in 2000, signed with the Houston Texans on Saturday. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. The 6-foot-2, 245-pound Mitchell started 61 of 78 games with the New Orleans Saints over the past five seasons. He had 97 tackles, two sacks and one fumble recovery last season. Mitchell's best season came in 2000 when he started 14 regular-season games and had a career-high 6½ sacks, four fumble recoveries, and one interception returned for a touchdown. He also started one of two playoff games for the Saints. Mitchell played college football at Texas A&M.
