Hundreds of suspected drug dealers got early morning visits from the police in raids across the state.
Tuesday and Wednesday, the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics task force rounded up 380 people suspected of dealing drugs across 72 cities. Gulfport officers went looking to arrest about 30 people on Wednesday.
The sting came after three weeks of undercover work where officers bought mostly crack cocaine. Officers say they hope the periodic raids will make a dent in the local drug trade.
"By removing these individuals off the streets we're making the communities a safer place to be, and also certainly drug free," Sgt. Alfred Sexton said.
